Daredevil Bingo

Leave a comment here to sign up for your Daredevil Bingo card for Round Two!

Comments should include:

a) your username at the site(s) where you will host your works, and the name of the site(s) (ex: significantowl on tumblr, significantowl on Ao3)

b) At least two prompt categories you would like to see your prompts pulled from. (You may include more than two categories - or all of the categories! - if you wish.)

c) (if needed) Up to 10 individual prompts within your chosen categories that you would NOT like to receive on your card.


You will receive a 5 x 5 Bingo card. 24 of the squares will be random prompts from the list of prompts, while the middle square will be a “Wild Card” square that may be used for any prompt you want from the list of prompts.

Please read through the list of prompts before posting to determine if you need to strike any prompts. If you strike a prompt, you are guaranteed NOT to receive that prompt on your card. You may strike up to 10 individual prompts, and need only include at least 2 prompt categories for your card to be created. If you have issues with the required number of categories or available strikes, message daredevilbingo or significantowl at tumblr, or email significantowl AT gmail DOT com.

Cards should go out within a couple days of your comment. If it's been a few days and you still have not received a card, feel free to poke me about it!

Once you have completed at a Bingo, head over to the Achievement Post to receive your banner and request a second card if you would like one.

Welcome to Daredevil Bingo!

Daredevil Bingo is a challenge in the spirit of other fandom bingo challenges (kink_bingo, cottoncandy_bingo, xmfc_bingo, etc.) Participants sign up for a randomized bingo card and then create fanworks to complete a “bingo” down, across, or diagonally on the card. If a participant completes a bingo during a round, they can request a new card.

While Daredevil Bingo is largely focused on the current Netflix TV series and the wider Marvel Netflix universe (Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, The Defenders, The Punisher), fanworks related to the comics are welcome!


Timeline:

Round One sign-ups begin: November 15, 2018

Round One ends: November 15, 2019*

(*this is subject to some adjustment, particularly if any further show airdates are established, but the round will last for AT LEAST one year)

The Goal

Once you have signed up and received your Bingo card, your goal is to achieve a Bingo horizontally, vertically, or diagonally by creating fanworks based on the prompts on your card. You can also aim for a Blackout, which would be achieved by creating fanworks based on EVERY prompt on your card, and other Bingo Extras as outlined here.

In order to "win" at Daredevil Bingo, you must achieve at least one Bingo by November 15th, 2019. Winners will receive a banner celebrating their achievement and the chance to request an additional card, if desired.


The Prompts

A list of the prompts used in this round can be found here. When you sign up, you'll be given the opportunity to select the prompt categories you wish to see used in the creation of your card (two categories minimum), and the chance to strike up to 10 individual prompts, meaning they will be removed before your card is auto-generated.

It's time for The Devil’s February Challenge!


Take an existing bingo prompt on your card;

Incorporate a seasonal twist;

Post the fill sometime between now and February 28th;

Report your challenge fill at this post;

Earn a special seasonal achievement banner!


What’s a seasonal twist? As always, flexible interpretations are welcome at Daredevil Bingo! Whether it’s Valentine’s dates gone wrong (or right), the trials and tribulations of fighting crime in sleet and ice and winter slush, the horror of over-priced roses or the glory of half-priced post-Valentine’s chocolate, or something completely different that says February to you… bring it!

Can I fill the challenge more than once? Yes please! :)

Does this end at a specific time on February 28th? Nah, as long as it’s still February somewhere in the the world, you’re good!

Once you complete a Bingo or Extra for Round One, report your achievement here!

A Bingo is creating 5 different fanworks for 5 different prompts listed down, across, or diagonally on your card.

Extras are bonus achievements earned after earning bingo on a particular card. For Round One, Extras will include the following:

Blackout = creating fanworks for every prompt on your card (25 prompts, 25 works)
Confetti = alternating squares, 1 fanwork per prompt (12-13 prompts, 12-13 works)
Postage Stamp = blending 4 prompts aligned in a square into 1 fanwork (4 prompts, 1 work)
Picture Frame = blending the 16 prompts from the outer edges of your card into 1 fanwork (16 prompts, 1 work)
Double D = 2 works, each encompassing 8 prompts aligned in a “D” shape on the card, the wild card used with either the same or a different prompt in each work (15-16 prompts, 2 works)

When reporting an achievement, your comment should include:

Achievement: (Bingo, Blackout, Postage Stamp, Picture Frame, Confetti, Double D)

Requesting an additional card: (yes or no)

When requesting an additional card, the original guidelines apply, ie, you may strike up to 10 individual prompts, as well as up to 2 entire categories of prompts, if you would like, and email daredevilbingomod AT gmail DOT com if more strikes are needed.

You may want to celebrate your achievement at tumblr by posting your banner and links to your works (the above template could be handy for that, too); if so, be sure to @daredevilbingo or tag with daredevil bingo in first five tags, so your post can be reblogged to the community!
